Cooking oil is an essential fat extracted from plant seeds and usually liquid at room temperature .

Cooking oil is used for various cooking methods including frying, baking, and even as a salad dressing ,when used in moderation, cooking oil provides energy and helps the body absorb vitamins A, D, E, and K.

While cooking oil can be beneficial, consuming too much of it can lead to several health problems. 

Cooking oils are calorie-dense, and overuse can lead to excessive calorie intake, resulting in weight gain and obesity. Oils high in saturated fats (like coconut oil, palm oil, and butter) can raise bad cholesterol levels, increasing the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke.

Excessive intake of oils rich in omega-6 fatty acids  may contribute to chronic inflammation if not balanced with omega-3 fats. Chronic inflammation is linked to many diseases including diabetes, arthritis, and cancer.
